Sigur Rós – live in Djúpavík, July 2006 – double DVD

Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós held a small number of concerts in Iceland at the end of their world tour in 2005/6. The venues were specially chosen, and the old herring factory in Djúpavík one of them.

The band made a video featuring excerpts from this Icelandic tour, including several recordings from the concert in Djúpavík. The DVD will be released later in autumn this year. A second DVD in the set contains more recordings and extra material.

The double DVD,  entitled "Heima" will be released on 5 November 2007 in two different editions: the standard double DVD and a limited edition, with a 104 page booklet containing pictures of the band’s tour.

The film of the tour will be shown at the Film Festival in Reykjavík on 27 September.

"For me, this concert was the most impressive event in the 22-year history of our hotel. My husband Ásbjörn and I are real Sigur Rós fans!" said Eva Sigurbjörndóttir, the hotel proprietor, as she fondly recalled the visit.
